this is a classic study. i have steel, plastic, glass and china in there.. surprisingly i thought glass would be the most difficult but it came out the best in this effort... improvement reqd every where else...
a red box and a blue cup juxtaposed with a steel bowl all pilfered from the kitchen provided a good composition to experiment with. But this is far from good.
There is a huge scope for improvement and the steel this times wasn't as good as the previous one!
Rolling stones came to perform in Bangalore and this photo which i have attempted to recreate in pencil sketch was published in the local newspaper.
I love doing portraits esp. in pencil and this was a little complicated with the contortions of the face. But nevertheless very challenging.
Some close ups of faces send my sketching nerves into motion and then i am engulfed by this deluge of force to sit down and sketch... and my fingers are just trying to float in the energy that emanates from some mysterious depths.

I Normally make sketches but the colors of this one was too enticing for a water color. In fact this is the theme which inspired me to take up painting more seriously.
One of my first real attempt at still life - well i had the beginner's luck as part of it came out better than i expected. I thought it looked like steel.. guess i just got lucky with the colors!
